Ghost Hunters
“Ghost Hunters” is an American reality TV series focused on the paranormal, which debuted on Syfy on October 6, 2004. The show stars Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who explore locations rumored to be haunted. Initially, they balanced their ghost-hunting activities with their day jobs as plumbers for Roto-Rooter, conducting investigations at night. However, following the show’s success, their focus shifted primarily to the series, though they remain honorary employees of Roto-Rooter and occasionally take on jobs when their schedules allow.
This series is distinct from the original “Ghosthunters” show produced by Inca Productions for the Discovery Channel in 1996. The concept was adapted by Pilgrim Films & Television in the U.S. to create “Ghost Hunters.” The only connection between the two versions is Ian Cashmore, who hosted the UK/Europe show and initially piloted the U.S. version but opted out of continuing with the American series after filming the promotional material.
