Anni, who comes from an affluent background and is accustomed to a comfortable lifestyle, finds herself enamored with Veikko, a war veteran injured during the Continuation War. She decides to abandon her former life and embrace the challenges of being a pioneer in the untamed forests of northern Karelia, settling on a farm. Initially, everything seems promising, but soon, unforeseen circumstances shatter Anni’s dreams, putting her relationship with Veikko to the ultimate test.
