On March 21st, 1945, the British Royal Air Force embarked on a mission to attack the Gestapo’s headquarters in Copenhagen. Tragically, the operation went awry when some of the bombers mistakenly hit a school, resulting in the deaths of over 120 individuals, including 86 children.
