In “Transit,” directed by Christian Petzold, a man named Georg flees Nazi-occupied France and assumes the identity of a deceased writer whose papers he possesses. As he waits in Marseille for a chance to escape, he becomes entangled in a web of love and identity, blurring the lines between past and present.
